چکیده

In this paper, the mechanism of separation volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from activated carbon adsorption beds during closed cycle temperature swing desorption was studied. Toluene gas at different concentrations used as for to regenerate saturated with toluene. This research advances our understanding contaminants and process by which waste a background concentration desorbs in hot concentration, establishing technological foundation carbon. When 2 g/m3, average rates unit 10 cm 40 min 60 were largest, 0.0099 0.0067 g/ (g•min), respectively. The fit Bangham rate equation best. toluene g/m3 filling length layer cm, constant highest, 0.0152 min−1.

Separation Efficiency of Glucose and Maltose from Industrial Effluent by Granular Activated Carbon

This paper describes the performance of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) to adsorb and separate glucose and maltose solutes from the industrial effluents by adsorption process. In this study, the capability of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) to adsorb glucose and maltose were experimentally examined. Commercial GAC (mesh 12-20), supplied by Sigma Aldrich company in...

Steady-state and dynamic desorption of organic vapor from activated carbon with electrothermal swing adsorption.

A new method to achieve steady-state and dynamic-tracking desorption of organic compounds from activated carbon was developed and tested with a bench-scale system. Activated carbon fiber cloth (ACFC) was used to adsorb methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) from air streams. Direct electrothermal heating was then used to desorb the vapor to generate select vapor concentrations at 500 ppmv and 5000 ppmv in a...

Desorption of Reactive Red 198 from activated carbon prepared from walnut shells: effects of temperature, sodium carbonate concentration and organic solvent dose

This study investigated the effect of temperature, different concentrations of sodium carbonate, and the dose of organic solvent on the desorption of Reactive Red 198 dye from dye-saturated activated carbon using batch and continuous systems. The results of the batch desorption test showed 60% acetone in water as the optimum amount. However, when the concentration of sodium carbonate was raised,...

Electrothermal Desorption of Cwa Simulants from Activated Carbon Cloth

The use of activated carbon fabrics (ACFs) that are desorbed electrothermally, also known as the Joule effect, is explored as a potential method to create a regenerating chemical warfare agent (CWA) filter. Electrical resistance vs. temperature measurements are presented for KynolTM-based ACF and compared with results for ACFs produced from other substrates. Adsorption and desorption results fo...
